Warangal(June, 17) : Industries and Commerce Minister K.T. Rama Rao, along with Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, initiated the groundbreaking ceremony for 11 factories belonging to Youngone Corporation at Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Warangal. H.E. Chang Jae-bok, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to India, and Kihak Sung, Chairman & CEO of Youngone Corporation, also participated in the event.
During his address, Minister KTR mentioned that the Youngone factories at KMTP will create job opportunities for 21,000 individuals. The first phase will witness the establishment of four factories, employing nearly 6,000 people, followed by the construction of seven more factories in subsequent phases. The manufacturing units will focus on sportswear, knitting, textiles, dyeing & finishing, and poly products.
Youngone Corporation, founded in 1974, is a renowned global manufacturer of outdoor and athletic clothing, textiles, footwear, and gear, recognized for its history of innovation, partnership, and trust.
Minister KTR assured that a significant portion of the jobs in the factories will be reserved for locals, particularly women. He also announced plans to provide transportation facilities for women workers and establish a daycare center for their children. Moreover, the Minister highlighted that the factories will adhere to international standards, and the garments produced in Telangana will be exported to America, Europe, and other countries.
Emphasizing the significance of India’s growth in the textile sector, the Industries Minister stressed that reforms in this industry will have a positive impact on employment, support farmers through assured Minimum Support Price (MSP), and boost the state’s revenue. The establishment of Kakatiya Mega Textile Park marks a significant step toward fostering the growth of the textile sector and generating substantial employment opportunities.
MP Pasunoori Dayakar, MLA Challa Dharma Reddy, Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary of Industries and Commerce, E. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, Special Secretary of Investment Promotion & NRI Affairs, Jyoti Buddha Prakash, Secretary to Handlooms and Textiles, Mihir Parekh, Director of Textiles, and others were present at the ceremony.
