Rangareddy(Aug, 26) : The Forestrek Park, spread across 256 acres, has been established by TSFDC Ltd in the Chilkur Reserve Forest block in Moinabad Mandal of Chevella Constituency in Rangareddy District. This area was previously used as a dumping ground for construction waste and had become degraded due to biotic pressure and weed infestations. Developed as an Urban Forest Park, it features trekking as a special highlight due to its terrain and geography.
The park underwent significant protection and rejuvenation efforts, including the construction of a 4.5 km wall, planting of local saplings, shrub species, and rejuvenation of existing trees. Notable amenities such as trekking routes, walking pathways, water bodies, seating areas, and more have been established. With an investment of Rs 7.38 crore from various sources, the park has not only generated employment and monthly revenue but also gained popularity among visitors for its unique features like rock formations and scenic water bodies. The park now stands as a transformed haven for trekkers, contributing to the region’s natural beauty and urban forest offerings.
