Telangana DGP Holds Virtual Conference to Enhance Crime Management

Hyderabad(Aug, 26): Director General of Police, Anjani Kumar-IPS, chaired a significant video conference with zonal Inspectors General of Police, Range Deputy Inspectors General, and unit officers from across Telangana. The conference delved into matters concerning monthly online grave crime reviews, functional verticals, cybercrimes, and Human Resource Management. Discussions encompassed the status of grave and pending cases, conviction rates, crime analysis, and other pivotal subjects.

ADGP and CID chief Mahesh Bhagwat-IPS efficiently coordinated the conference. Expressing his satisfaction, Anjani Kumar shared that the department had successfully maintained the UI pendency cases within permissible limits for 16 consecutive months.

The Ramagundam Commissionerate led in disposing of the highest number of UI cases, followed by Sanga Reddy, Jagtial, Siddipet, and Peddapalli. Notably, Rachakonda Commissionerate demonstrated significant progress in the conviction rate for grave cases. Additionally, there was a noteworthy reduction of 46.34% in cases of crime against women.

Considering DCP zone-wise analysis, DCP Peddapalli stood out for reducing cases, followed by Warangal, Yadadri, Balanagar, and Maheswaram. In cases without cybercrimes, DCP West Zone Hyderabad, Madhapur, Central Zone Hyderabad, LB Nagar DCP, and South-East Zone Hyderabad registered varying increases, necessitating careful analysis of the types of crimes.

The reduction of grave cases showcased Ramagundam reducing 14 cases, Jagtial 17 cases, Ramagundam 14 cases, Rachakonda 12 cases, and Siddipet 10 cases. Noteworthy progress was observed in resolving long-standing cases, exemplified by a 2005 case in Nagarkurnool resulting in a charge-sheeted and CC number. Cases related to 498A of 2012, SC, ST case of 2013 in Uppal PS, and another case of 2015 in Bhadradri-Kothagudem PS were also charge-sheeted, garnering praise for the Investigating Officers.

Among the 21 verticals, Rachakonda excelled in 11, Cyberabad in 10, and Hyderabad in one. Clusters across various regions showcased commendable performance, with Ramagundam being particularly lauded for their exceptional case disposal.
