KTR Accuses Congress Government of Rs20,000 Crore Plunder in Telangana Land Scheme
Hyderabad(Mar, 4) : In a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s Working President, KTR, launched a scathing attack on the Congress government, alleging a staggering Rs20,000 crore plunder through the Land Regularization Scheme (LRS) at the expense of Telangana’s citizens. Demanding the swift regularization of plots without any fees, KTR pointedly reminded of Congress’s past assurances of free land regularization. He questioned the deafening silence of present Congress ministers, including prominent figures like Revanth Reddy and Bhatti Vikramarka, who had vehemently opposed LRS during BRS’s tenure. With 25.44 lakh applicants facing potential burdens of at least ₹1 lakh each, KTR declared statewide protest programs on March 6, calling for immediate action from the Congress government.
Expressing disappointment over Congress leaders’ flip-flop, KTR aired videos of their previous criticisms of LRS as a means of extracting money from the people. Accusing the state government of squeezing LRS applicants for charges before March 31, KTR likened it to “drinking the blood of the people.” He singled out Bhatti Vikramraka and Uttamkumar Reddy, demanding explanations for their apparent U-turns on LRS. Warning of intensified protests including dharnas in every constituency and demonstrations in front of key government offices, KTR urged the state government to fulfill its promise of waiving LRS charges.
