Hyderabad(Mar, 3) : World Wildlife Day was celebrated today with great joy and enthusiasm. To mark the occasion as both eventful and educational, a variety of activities were organized, including puzzle solving, drawing and painting, crosswords, jumble sentence and jumble letter games, quiz competitions, and awareness programs held at each animal enclosure. Tiger masks were distributed to the visiting children, and prizes were awarded to the winners.
Over 500 individuals, including children, youngsters, parents, and senior citizens, participated in the day-long program. Dr. Sunil S Hiremath, IFS, Curator of Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad, greeted all the participants and briefed them about the zoo management’s role in wildlife conservation, breeding, and, most importantly, wildlife education. He commended the children who showed a keen interest in learning about wildlife.
The Public Relations Officer, Zoo Education Officer, and Zoo corps from FCRI, Mulugu, under the guidance of the Deputy Curator, successfully conducted awareness programs that were highly appreciated by most visitors.
