Hyderabad : The Indian Journalists Union (IJU) and Telangana State Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) joined forces with the Hyderabad Union of Journalists (HUJ) to issue a stern warning to the central government regarding its actions against media organizations and journalists. The protest, held at Bashir Bagh, was in response to a recent police attack on the News Click portal office and journalists in Delhi.
Prominent figures such as K. Srinivas Reddy, President of IJU, and K. Ramachandramurthy, State General Secretary of TUWJ, were present, alongside other leaders and members of various journalist associations. Srinivas Reddy emphasized that the central government’s actions were part of a larger scheme to undermine independent journalists and media organizations, calling for solidarity among journalists across the country.
Ramachandra Murthy pointed out that these attacks were primarily aimed at critics of the central government’s policies and the ruling party’s ideology, urging journalists, intellectuals, and democrats to unite in opposition to such actions.
