Graduation Day Nears for Inaugural Cohort of ‘Project Ujaagar’ by WE Hub

1st cohort of We Hub’s ‘Project Ujaagar’ set to graduate on October 5th

Hyderabad : The inaugural cohort of We Hub’s ‘Project Ujaagar’ program is poised to graduate on October 5, 2023. This initiative, a collaboration between WE Hub and the Minority Welfare Department in partnership with SAFA Society, was designed to enhance financial literacy and formalize support for businesses led by minority women in the state. In a significant development, WE Hub’s CEO, along with the women entrepreneurs from the first cohort, met with IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao in Hyderabad. Minister KTR commended the achievements of these women, hailing them as the entrepreneurs of the future. He highlighted the program’s significance, emphasizing that it provides seed funding to empower these successful women and shape the economy’s future. Minister KTR encouraged the celebration of their accomplishments and the inspiration they offer to more women to venture into entrepreneurship, affirming Telangana’s unwavering commitment to economic growth and the empowerment of future business leaders.

The program’s overarching goal is to uplift the socio-economic conditions of minority communities and create inclusive opportunities for women throughout Hyderabad and Telangana. Notably, over 120 women from the minority community are set to participate in the program, with 49 having already completed the course and set to receive certificates on October 5th. Furthermore, five out of eight women have received financial support amounting to Rs. 1,00,000 from the Minority Welfare Department under the auspices of Hon’ble Minister KTR.

Deepthi Ravula, CEO of WE Hub, highlighted the challenges faced by women-led businesses over the past five years, including issues related to registration, financial literacy, accounting skills, and operational tools. She underscored the partnership’s commitment to addressing these challenges through Project Ujaagar, fostering a robust community of founders who can learn from one another and collectively thrive. Deepthi also revealed plans to expand the program, with the second cohort set to accommodate double the number of participants, underscoring the program’s success and the bright prospects it holds for empowering women entrepreneurs in Telangana
