Varanasi(Mar, 19) : In the ancient city of Kashi, known as the oldest city in the world and the cultural capital of India, traditions and beliefs endure with remarkable vibrancy. Among these is the cherished tradition of Gulabbadi. During the month of Chaitra, the entire community immerses itself in a symphony of music and fragrance as Gulab Bari comes to life. This tradition, spanning centuries, sees men adorned in pink Banarasi dupalli caps and dupattas, paired with white kurtas and pajamas, while women grace the scene in elegant pink sarees.
Welcomed by showers of rose water and petals, the atmosphere is steeped in tradition and joy. Hosted by the Sanskriti Bhumihar Mahila Samaj of Varanasi, this gathering celebrates Holi’s spirit with a unique twist, where Cheti rose petals and music reign supreme. Amidst the regal décor, guests are enveloped in the intoxicating fragrance, and the sprinkle of rose water adds a delightful tickle to the festivities.
Such events, amidst Chaiti roses and melodies, offer a glimpse into the timeless traditions of Banaras, where culture thrives and nostalgia thrills. The enchanting melodies of Ms. Diksha and the mesmerizing performances of Deepti Rai, Satya Singh, and Vaishali further elevate the ambiance. Executive members, including Divya Sharma, Preeti Singh, and Shalini Singh, among others, spare no effort in ensuring a memorable experience for all.
The presence and commitment of esteemed doctors such as Doctor Saroj Pandey, Doctor Hrita Tripathi, Dr. Poonam Rai, and Samata Pandey in promoting women’s health awareness add a touch of noble purpose to the festivities. As the program concludes with the lively dance of children, the essence of tradition and community solidarity lingers on, reaffirming the timeless spirit of Kashi.
