RESOLUTION OF THE CONGRESS WORKING COMMITTEE IN ITS MEETING

The Congress Working Committee (CWC) has expressed its heartfelt condolences to the families of our brave military and police personnel who sacrificed their lives in Jammu & Kashmir. The CWC strongly condemns the BJP’s celebratory extravaganza during this national tragedy, which has caused immense pain and insult to their sacrifice. Additionally, the CWC acknowledges the invaluable contributions of Mallikarjun Kharge as Congress President, recognizing his dedication to social justice, empowerment, and the defense of India’s Constitution against the Modi Government’s assaults. The committee also celebrates the one-year anniversary of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, led by Rahul Gandhi, aimed at uniting people against divisive forces, addressing economic inequalities, and safeguarding democratic institutions. Furthermore, the CWC expresses deep concern over the constitutional breakdown in Manipur and calls for immediate corrective actions, highlights rising casteism and communalism, and demands accountability for farmers’ welfare and economic distress. It firmly rejects the call for a new Constitution, condemns the erosion of parliamentary debate, and urges transparency in the Adani business group transactions.

The CWC opposes the ‘One Nation, One Election’ proposal, condemns China’s incursions into Indian territory, and stands for communal harmony and social equity. Lastly, it welcomes the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) and commits to creating a responsible, just, and accountable government for the nation
