Hyderabad(Oct, 21) :Â In a significant development, Sangisetti Naga Ravi Kumar, who had been absconding since 2017, was apprehended by the NBWs Special Execution Team of the CID Telangana in Satyanarayana Puram, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. The case revolves around the activities of M/s Questnet Enterprises India (P) Ltd, wherein the accused, Bhukya Kantha Rao, and others, allegedly lured individuals into a multi-level marketing business with false promises. Victims were coerced into purchasing gold coins worth Rs. 33,000 and paying a registration fee of Rs. 460, but they never received the commissions promised to them.
The company, registered under the Companies Act, 1956, was accused of promoting an illegal money circulation scheme, selling gold coins of lower value at exorbitant prices, and deceiving the unsuspecting public. A case was initially registered under various sections of the IPC and the Prize Chits and Money Circulation Schemes (Banning) Act, 1978, by the SHO in Dornakal. Subsequently, the case was transferred to the CID, RO, Warangal for further investigation.
Despite evading court proceedings for several years, the accused, Sangisetti Naga Ravi Kumar, was finally arrested and produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court at Hanumakonda on 20.10.2023. The successful execution of this operation was carried out under the supervision of B. Ram Reddy, Superintendent of Police, CMS, CID, Telangana. The CID Special Team, comprising B. Swamy, SI of Police, Ch. Venkat Ratnam, HC 1983, and Manohar Goud, ARHC 2047, was lauded for their efforts and will be duly recognized and rewarded by Addl. DGP, CID, Mahesh M. Bhagwat, IPS
