Hyderabad(Aug, 22) : City Police Commissioner, CV Anand-IPS, paid tribute to the legacy of Raja Bahadur Venkata Ram Reddy on his 154th birth anniversary. The commemorative event, organized by the Raja Bahadur Venkat Ramreddy Educational Society at YMCA ‘X’road, Narayanaguda, saw CP Anand as the chief guest. Recognizing Raja Bahadur Venkata Ram Reddy’s pioneering contributions, Commissioner Anand highlighted his significant role as the 14th Kotwal during the Nizam era.
Assuming the position of Kotwal in 1920, Raja Bahadur Venkata Ram Reddy dedicated 14 years to civic and policing works. His resolute efforts aimed at eradicating prevalent social issues of that era, and he also established educational institutions to uplift the status of girl children. “His enduring influence is evident through the City Police Act of 1938, a testament to his visionary outlook,” praised the city’s top police official.
The educational institutions founded by Raja Bahadur Venkata Ram Reddy continue to yield substantial benefits for society. Commissioner Anand shared a personal connection, revealing that his own family had benefited from these institutions. He encouraged students to derive inspiration from Raja Bahadur Venkata Ram Reddy’s life and emphasized the importance of hard work for success.
In recognition of outstanding recent performances, Commissioner Anand applauded the executive body of the institution and awarded Gold medals and Rs 5000 cash to Raghavendra, Inspector of the IT cell, Hyderabad City, and K. Ravinder, Inspector of the Social Media Cell, Cyberabad.
