“Biden Biden come November all the voters will remember” a slogan raised by people in solidarity with Palestine on ongoing Israel’s genocidal military campaign. Analysts believe that Israel’s Netanyahu may outlast Biden. A top Israeli official says the war will continue until the year’s end on the other side 5 November will decide the fate of Biden administration furthermore Netanyahu facing a tremendous pressure from United States to halt operations and pushing for a proposed agreement to end the fighting in Gaza.

Israel’s national security adviser Tzachi Hanegbi said, “The Israeli army will be fighting in Gaza for the next seven months at least”. The Palestinian territory facing a devastating famine , mass displacement, physical and mental assault that has killed more than 36,000 Palestinians since October 7. The continuation of war in Gaza and Rafah will definitely harm Joe Biden’s re election campaign in November with plummeting public support for his unconditional backing for Israel.

Human rights advocates have warned and commented that Netanyahu has personal political benefits in prolonging the war to boost his political standing at Tel Aviv. The reverse is true for Joe Biden . Several public opinion polls in US currently favour former President Donald Trump to beat Biden in upcoming November elections. In addition Netanyahu benefiting from Gaza offensive in recovering popularity kicking out his rival and war cabinet minister Benny Gantz.

Gaza offensive hurting and will diminish Biden re election chances. Josh Ruebner, a lecturer at Georgetown University’s Justice and Peace Programme said,

“The signs are clear. The writing is on the wall. And should Biden decide to continue this lockstep support for Israel for another seven months, it’s not only going to kill tens of thousands more Palestinians, but it’s also going to lose him the election.”

According to Arab American Institute showed that Arab American support for Biden in 2020 was 60% which declined to 18% because of his Gaza policies. The president of Arab American institute, James Zogby said it would be politically dangerous for Biden and the Democratic Party if the war continued through the US elections in November. He added

“It means that, if there is not something very dramatic the president does, then this is not going to be an easy election for him, young people , blacks people , Asian people are following the interninternational headlines on a daily basis seeing genocide unfolding . They are not insensitive to what they are seeing”.

Netanyahu believed to crossed all red lines which was decided and limited by Biden. But still Biden is not showing any signs of changing his Pro Israel policies even as Tel aviv openly defies the White House instructions to avoid civilian casualties and invasion of Rafah. But Netanyahu did it despite growing pressure. The question arose will Israel’s right wing administration support Trump despite Biden’s uncompromising support ? The answer is complex but Netanyahu would rather deal with Trump. Because of the on going air and land assault against Palestine, Natanyahu and Biden have appeared to have a tense relationship particularly in recent months. The US president strictly warned Netanyahu against invading Rafah but Israel ignored the red mark and launched deadly violence on the Southern Gaza city.

The situation escalated between Biden and Netanyahu when in a televised remarks Netanyahu appeared to dismiss Biden’s threats to halt weapon shipments and allowing humanitarian assistance to enter in territory, he said,

“If we have to stand alone, we will stand alone, if we need to, we will fight with our fingernails”.

Trump promised Israel for his unconditional support and brutal cracking of Palestine protests in United States.
