Hyderabad(Sep, 8): In a high-level review meeting held in Hyderabad, MA&UD Minister KTR outlined the impressive progress of the double-bedroom dignity housing program in Telangana. Minister KTR, along with key dignitaries and officials, discussed the first phase’s success in allocating 11,700 double-bedroom houses and announced the ambitious plan to distribute an additional 13,300 dignity houses beginning on September 21st. These houses, each valued at approximately Rs. 50 lakhs, are provided free of cost to underprivileged citizens in Hyderabad, highlighting the state’s commitment to housing for the poor.
Minister KTR underscored the uniqueness of Telangana’s double-bedroom housing scheme, covering 560 square feet, unmatched by any other state in India. He praised the transparency and accountability of the allocation process, emphasizing that neither MLAs nor public representatives have a say in it. Furthermore, he commended GHMC officials for their tireless efforts in executing this ambitious project.
The Minister also discussed the upcoming Gruhalakshmi scheme and potential modifications based on suggestions, highlighting the government’s dedication to addressing housing concerns. Additionally, he emphasized the government’s commitment to clearing encroachments on the Musi riverbanks and allocating double-bedroom houses to affected families, further underscoring the multifaceted approach to welfare schemes that benefit thousands of residents in each assembly segment
