Hyderabad(Aug, 30):Â Telangana Ministers T Harish Rao and Mohammad Mahmood Ali paid a visit to Sholapur, Maharashtra, on Wednesday. During their visit, the ministers participated in special prayers at a local temple and mosque. Speaking at a local gathering, the Home Minister highlighted that the BRS government is actively implementing various welfare schemes aimed at benefiting the Muslim population in Telangana. Their presence was warmly welcomed by the people as they joined the BRS party in Sholapur. At the Dargah Sharif in Sholapur, Home Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali recited the Fatiha and offered prayers for the progress of the Telangana government, law and order, people’s well-being, and the promotion of the Ganga Jamuna culture.
Minister Harish Rao conducted a special puja at a local temple. Both ministers engaged in separate programs and addressed the public. Home Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali, while addressing minority events, emphasized that the Telangana government is committed to secular principles and ensures equal opportunities for the progress and development of all sections of society. He mentioned that Telangana is benefitting from various national schemes, with almost every household in the state being a beneficiary of at least one scheme. The Home Minister emphasized that the minorities, especially the Muslim community, are experiencing positive growth due to the numerous opportunities for development provided by the government. He praised Chief Minister KCR for being a genuinely secular leader dedicated to people’s prosperity and progress.
Furthermore, Home Minister Muhammad Mahmood Ali questioned whether Maharashtra has residential schools and colleges for minorities?, schemes like Shaadi Mubarak for Muslim girls?, scholarships for studying abroad?, and a 100% subsidy program?. Responding to his own questions, the Home Minister revealed that the Telangana government plans to provide a 100% subsidy of one lakh rupees to minorities in the state. In the first phase, checks of one lakh rupees have been distributed to 10,000 beneficiaries, with another phase set to benefit an additional ten thousand people.
The Home Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to minority and poverty alleviation through various schemes, praising the exemplary minority programs led by Chief Minister KCR. He mentioned that Telangana boasts 204 residential schools and colleges providing free education and accommodation to over 1,40,000 students. The Shaadi Mubarak scheme has facilitated the marriage of 2.65 lakh economically disadvantaged girls, and ten thousand Imams across the state are receiving a monthly payment of Rs 5,000. The Home Minister concluded by urging the people of Sholapur to unite with the BRS for the development of Maharashtra akin to Telangana’s progress.
