Congress Aims for Change in Old City Hyderabad with Bold Election Agenda

Hyderabad(Aug, 30) : Hyderabad District Congress Committee President Sameer Waliullah announced the initiation of a comprehensive declaration for the Old City of Hyderabad, encompassing various crucial issues. Speaking at a press conference alongside TPCC Vice President & Hyderabad Incharge Pushpa Leela, TPCC Spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin, and other leaders at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad, Waliullah highlighted the increasing strength of the Congress party in the Old City over recent years. He noted a significant surge in candidates vying for the Assembly elections, demonstrating heightened interest in constituencies including Charminar, Yakutpura, Chandrayangutta, Bahadurpura, and Malakpet.

Waliullah emphasized that the upcoming Assembly elections in the Old City would diverge from the past, aiming to bring public issues to the forefront of political discourse. Alleging a secret alliance between the MIM and BJP parties, he criticized their divisive politics and pledged to address pressing problems, such as illiteracy, unemployment, development gaps, civic services, public health, crime rates, housing, police concerns, Metro Rail expansion, and illicit financing. Waliullah announced the collaboration with various stakeholders and the public to gather input through social media platforms, underscoring the need for positive change for the generations that have faced neglect and discrimination in the Old City. Meanwhile, TPCC Spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin highlighted AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge’s unveiling of the SC, ST Declaration in Chevella, promising empowerment for marginalized communities, a commitment Congress plans to honor upon assuming power.
