Hyderabad(Mar, 30) : Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has issued a call to action to avert a potential drinking water crisis in Telangana. As part of immediate measures, a senior officer will be designated as a Special Officer at the district level to oversee efforts to tackle drinking water issues.
The Chief Minister has instructed officials to maximize the utilization of local water resources during the critical months of April, May, and June, including tapping into bore wells and wells for drinking water purposes. Additionally, strict guidelines have been set for water tanker services, mandating that booked tankers must reach their destinations within 12 hours without any delay.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister emphasized the need to bolster the fleet of water tankers to ensure adequate water supply. An action plan is also in the works to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during the summer months, safeguarding against crop failure and ensuring that students preparing for examinations are not adversely affected by water scarcity.
