Hyderabad(July, 20) :Â The Department of Periodontics at Sri Balaji Dental College, which is a part of the JB Group of Institutions, recently organized a Dental Camp for the employees of the Information and Public Relations Department at the Commissionerate Office in Hyderabad. Spearheaded by Dr. Haritha Avula, Professor, and Head of Periodontics at Sri Balaji Dental College, Moinabad, the camp was conducted as part of the Green Initiative by the Indian Society of Periodontology. The initiative focused not only on raising awareness about oral hygiene but also on promoting sustainable practices by encouraging the use of Bamboo toothbrushes instead of plastic ones.
B. Rajamouli, Director of the Information and Public Relations Department, stressed the importance of maintaining oral hygiene to prevent various gum diseases. During the event, Dr. Haritha Avula delivered a detailed presentation on maintaining oral health, emphasizing the significance of proper brushing techniques, flossing, regular dental check-ups, and dispelling myths about dental problems. The informative session also included interactive discussions with the employees to address their queries and concerns about oral hygiene.
Following the presentation, a team of doctors, including Dr. Gireeshma, Associate Professor at Sri Balaji Dental College, conducted a screening camp for all the employees. The doctors provided necessary treatment recommendations and distributed free Bamboo toothbrushes and toothpaste to promote sustainable dental practices. The event saw the participation of various dignitaries from the Information and Public Relations Department, including V. Radha Kishan, Chief Information Engineer, N. Venkateshwar Rao, Secretary of the Media Academy of Telangana State, Jayaram Murthy, Regional Information Engineer, and several Deputy Directors and Assistant Directors.
