Secunderabad Railway Station: Authorities Foil Attempts to Smuggle Silver and Drugs

Hyderabad : On 04-05-2024, as per the instructions of Mahesh M Bhagawat, IPS, ADGP., Railways & Road Safety, Telangana State, surprise inspections were conducted at Secunderabad Railway Station. These checks targeted various illicit activities, leading to the apprehension of individuals engaged in different unlawful acts. Firstly, during routine checking for the upcoming general MP elections, Pogula Vasanth Kumar was intercepted for carrying silver ornaments from Secunderabad to Miryalaguda without valid documentation.

Subsequently, a separate operation targeting drug peddlers resulted in the apprehension of two male suspects, Vikesh and Akash Kumar Thakur, transporting Dry Ganja from Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, to Delhi via Secunderabad. These coordinated efforts by the GRP Secunderabad, under the supervision of Shaik Saleema, Supdt. of Police, and S.N. Jaweed, DSRP Urban-SC, led to the successful seizure of contraband and the initiation of legal proceedings against the offenders.

The diligence and vigilance displayed by the officers and men involved, including Sri. B. Saieashwar Goud, IRP/Secunderabad, D.Ramesh SIRP, K. Koteshwara Rao, RHC 33, K Chandrashekar, RPC 35, K. Bhavani Shankar RPC 489, and B. Harilal, RPC 621, merit commendation and suitable rewards.
