Pregnant Woman’s Fatal Mishap in Medak: Wall Collapse Amid Heavy Rain

Medak (July, 27) : In a devastating incident, a pregnant woman lost her life after a wall collapsed on her at X-Servicemen Colony in the heart of Medak district. The incident occurred during a period of heavy rainfall. The victim, identified as Yasmeen Sultana, daughter of Md. Sarwar, an Auto Driver residing in Medak X Serviceman Colony, had come to Medak for her delivery. Tragically, the wall of Yasmeen Sultana’s bedroom collapsed late at night during the heavy rain, causing serious injuries to her and her unborn child. The family immediately rushed her to a private hospital in Medak, but due to the critical condition, she was later shifted to Hyderabad for further medical care.

At the hospital in Hyderabad, doctors performed an emergency operation and removed the fetus. However, Yasmeen Sultana suffered multiple bone fractures due to the impact of the wall collapse. Her family members reported that her condition remains critical. The incident has left the residents of the colony grief-stricken, especially as Yasmeen’s delivery was expected in just one more week.

Local leaders and authorities have visited the site to extend their support to the grieving family. Mynampally Hanmant Rao, who was present, offered a check of one lakh rupees to the owner,  Sarwar, for the construction of the house. Rao also assured that he would communicate with the hospital staff to ensure the best possible treatment for Yasmeen Sultana.

In light of this tragic incident, leaders are urging authorities to take immediate action to identify and address the safety concerns in abandoned houses in Medak town. The incident has raised concerns about the safety and stability of structures during heavy rain and monsoon season.

Additionally, during a visit to Medak, P. Narasimhlu, a 20-year-old boy from P. Malma of Haveli Ghanpur mandal, who recently lost his life while fishing, was remembered and honored by offering financial support to his family. Leaders of the local organization MSSO, including Kandan Surendra Gode, Bose, Prashant Reddy, Bojja Pawan, T. Anil Kumar, Vithal, Syed Tahir alias Bombay Tahir, Syed Muneer Mohiuddin, and Md. Mujeeb, among others, were present on the occasion.

This tragic incident has brought attention to the need for better infrastructure and safety measures in vulnerable areas to prevent such unfortunate accidents in the future.
