Hyderabad : The Green Property Show 2023, organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry – Indian Green Building Council (CII – IGBC), was inaugurated at the Hitex Exhibition Center in Hyderabad by Industries and Municipal Administration & Urban Development Minister K.T. Rama Rao. This event signifies a significant step towards promoting sustainable living and environmentally responsible practices in the state of Telangana.
In his inaugural speech, Minister KTR emphasized the utmost importance of embracing green living practices and urged individuals to take responsibility for preserving the environment. He highlighted that the Green Property Show would play a crucial role in raising awareness among citizens about the importance of sustainable living and inspiring positive action.
The Minister expressed great delight in the collaboration between the Telangana Government and IGBC as a state partner to host India’s inaugural Green Property Show. He showcased Telangana’s pioneering achievements in the green building sector, boasting the nation’s first green building, green home, green airport, green railway station, and green factory building. Telangana’s proactive approach towards sustainability was evident, with eco-friendly measures being implemented in various state projects and buildings, such as the New Secretariat Building, T-Hub, T-Works, healthcare campuses, industrial parks, and IT towers.
Furthermore, Minister KTR praised the commendable efforts of cities like Hyderabad, Warangal, Khammam, and Karimnagar, which actively pursue green initiatives and have earned the prestigious IGBC Green Cities rating. The Haritha Haram program, with support from CII-IGBC, significantly increased Telangana’s tree cover through large-scale plantation drives.
During his address, the Minister extended appreciation to CII – IGBC for its leadership in spearheading the Green Building Movement in India since 2001. He assured continued support from the Government of Telangana for CII – IGBC’s commendable initiatives in the field of sustainability and green building development. The Green Property Show 2023 stands as a testament to Telangana’s commitment to a greener and more sustainable future.
