Hyderabad :Â State Minister for Health, Family Welfare, Science, and Technology, Damodar Rajanarsimha, chaired a high-level review meeting at Dr. BR Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat in Hyderabad, focusing on enhancing the state’s blood bank facilities. The minister emphasized the need to strengthen the longstanding IPM blood bank in Narayanguda, Hyderabad, which has been providing essential services for over 60 years. Rajanarsimha instructed officials to expedite the filling of vacant positions within the IPM blood bank. Additionally, he directed the enhancement of operational standards across 14 government-managed blood banks to bolster their efficiency.
During the review, discussions centered on the performance and management of the 63 blood banks operated under the auspices of the Telangana State Government’s Medical Health and Family Welfare Departments. Minister Rajanarsimha urged officials to commemorate World Blood Donation Day on June 14 by organizing awareness seminars across all district centers to promote the importance of blood donation. Furthermore, he instructed the setup of blood donation camps to augment blood reserves across the state.
