Hyderabad(Jan, 9) :Â Telangana Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari has issued a memo to IAS official and former HMDA commissioner Aravind Kumar, seeking clarification on several aspects related to the Formula E event. The memo raises concerns about the financial expenditure of over Rs. 46 Crores, along with a tax amount of Rs. 9.00 Crores, being paid from HMDA resources prior to the agreement being signed. Questions are raised regarding the lack of concurrence from HMDA’s Board of Directors and the State Government’s Finance Department.
Additionally, Chief Secretary Kumari inquires about the absence of necessary due diligence to safeguard the financial interests of HMDA and the government, especially given the assumed additional responsibilities as the “Promoter” for Season-10 of the event.
Concerns are also raised about the entry into a tripartite Long Form Agreement with Formula E Operations (FEO) and a private organizer without following the due process of approval from the Competent Authority, thereby violating Secretariat Business Rules. These questions reflect a need for transparency and adherence to proper procedures in the organization of the Formula E event
