Land and Financial Assistance: Telangana’s Bold Move to Tackle Housing Crisis

Telangana Government Unveils Indiramma Housing Scheme, Offers Rs 5 Lakh Aid for Home Construction

Hyderabad(Mar, 2) : The Telangana Government is set to roll out the Indiramma housing scheme, aiming to provide vital housing assistance to its citizens. Under this scheme, individuals constructing houses on their own plots will receive a substantial financial aid of Rs 5 lakh. For those without land, both a piece of land and the same monetary assistance will be provided. The initiative aims to allocate 3,500 houses to each Assembly Constituency in its initial phase, with a broader goal of extending the scheme to all eligible impoverished individuals lacking proper housing.

Priority will be accorded to those who have submitted applications through the Praja Palana system. However, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has issued a cautionary note, urging authorities to learn from the mistakes encountered during the implementation of the BRS government’s 2BHK scheme, emphasizing the importance of efficiency and accountability in the execution of such crucial welfare programs.
