Interstate Ganja Smuggling Racket Busted at Secunderabad Railway Station

Hyderabad : The Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Secunderabad Railway Station busted an interstate ganja smuggling racket operating between Odisha and Maharashtra. Two accused, Arun Kumar (28) and Dipak Kumar (22), originally from Uttar Pradesh and residing in Maharashtra, were arrested while transporting 10.143 kilograms of dry ganja worth ₹2,53,575. Acting on a tip-off, the police apprehended the duo during a surprise check and seized the contraband, along with mobile phones and train tickets.

The accused were allegedly working under the instructions of an absconding accomplice, Mohit, and were lured into the illegal trade for monetary gain.

The operation, led by senior officials, received appreciation from IGP Railway and Road Safety, K. Ramesh Naidu, IPS. Investigations are ongoing to apprehend other members of the smuggling network.
