BJP Criticizes Rahul Gandhi for Allegedly Disrespecting Manmohan Singh

Hyderabad : BJP state spokesperson N.V. Subash on Monday accused Congress Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi of turning the position into a “laughing stock” by allegedly disrespecting former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Subash criticized Gandhi for reportedly leaving for Vietnam to celebrate New Year during a week-long national mourning for Dr. Singh, calling it an insult to a leader of such international stature.

Subash further alleged that the Congress party has historically disrespected Dr. Singh, citing incidents like Rahul Gandhi publicly tearing a cabinet-approved ordinance during Singh’s tenure and the party’s failure to issue apologies for events like the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and the army’s entry into the Golden Temple. He also criticized Congress leaders for defending Gandhi’s actions during the mourning period, questioning their commitment to respecting Dr. Singh’s legacy and the Sikh community.
