Hyderabad : In a significant turn of events just prior to the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) elections, former cricketer Mohd Azharuddin has faced a major setback. The association has taken the decision to bar him from participating in the forthcoming polls and has also struck his name from the voter list.
Justice L Nageswara Rao, responsible for overseeing the cricket association’s affairs, made this ruling due to Azharuddin simultaneously holding the position of President at the Deccan Blues Cricket Club while serving as the President of HCA. Consequently, Azharuddin’s candidacy for the elections scheduled on October 20, 2023, has been revoked on grounds of a conflict of interest.
