Hyderabad City Security Council Hosts STREE SUMMIT 2023, Promoting Women’s Empowerment and Equality

Hyderabad City Unites for STREE SUMMIT 2023, Focusing on Empowering Women through Equality and Respect

Hyderabad(July, 12) : Hyderabad City Security Council (HCSC) and Hyderabad City Police organized the STREE SUMMIT, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at promoting the well-being and empowerment of women. Held at the Telangana Police Integrated Command & Control Centre, the event welcomed distinguished guests, including Minister for Home Affairs Mahmood Ali Sahab, Dr. D Nageshwara Reddy (Chairman of Asian Institute of Gastroenterology), and Raageshwari Loomba (Actor & Singer), among others. The summit commenced with a ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, followed by welcome remarks from Chaitanya Gorrepati, the Secretary General of HCSC. C.V. Anand-IPS, the Chairman of HCSC, emphasized the significance of the event and its objective to raise awareness on women’s issues, particularly focusing on the tagline “Hear Her Roar.” He highlighted the efforts of the Bharosa center in ensuring women’s safety and acknowledged the various programs operated by HCSC, such as the Cyber Security Forum, Women Forum, Traffic Forum, Anti-narcotic Forum, and Security Forum.

Dr. D Nageshwara Reddy, in his keynote address, shared insights into the functioning of the human brain and highlighted women’s multitasking abilities and rational thinking. He expressed concern over women’s mental health and encouraged open discussions to reduce the associated stigma. Dr. Reddy also emphasized the importance of physical health and the connection between gut health and mental well-being. The event also featured the release of a research paper by Osmania University, titled “Family Environment, Social Media Usage, and Well-Being of Adolescent Girls: an Analysis from a Psycho-Semantic Perspective.” Additionally, partners and volunteers dedicated to societal welfare causes were felicitated, and the Chief Guest, in his special address, applauded the efforts of the Hyderabad Police and emphasized the city’s commitment to creating a safe environment for all, particularly women. The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the support of HCSC leaders and expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, guests, and attendees who contributed to the success of the event
