Hyderabad(Sep, 21) :Â In a significant development, the Ghatkesar Police successfully apprehended an individual who had been impersonating a police officer and engaging in fraudulent activities. The arrest was made under Cr. No. 665/2023, U/s 170, 406, 419, 420 IPC of PS Ghatkesar. The accused, identified as Kusuma Prashanth, a 26-year-old student belonging to the Padmashali caste, was arrested on 18th September 2023 at Ghatkesar PS. Prashanth had been masquerading as a Reserve Sub-Inspector (RSI) and exploiting this false identity to deceive innocent individuals.
The investigation, initiated on the complaint of Kalakuntla Prasad, revealed that the accused wore a police uniform, complete with a pair of shoes, khaki socks, and even carried two mobile phones. His modus operandi involved approaching police aspirants, promising them assistance with their selection, and collecting money from them.
This fraudulent activity came to an end thanks to the efforts of the Ghatkesar Police, led by D. S. Chauhan, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, and Inspector of Police, M. Mahendar Reddy, along with SI D. Ashok and their dedicated team of officers and personnel from Ghatkesar PS. The accused was found in possession of incriminating evidence, including a police uniform, during his arrest, and a substantial amount of cash, totaling Rs. 21,300, was seized from him. This swift action by the police exemplifies their commitment to upholding the law and protecting the public from fraudulent activities.
