E-Garuda AC buses officially launched on Tuesday

Hyderabad(May, 16) : Transport Minister P. Ajay Kumar said that Telangana State Road Transport Corporation is making eco-friendly AC buses available for the convenience of passengers and TSRTC has been a pioneer in the country in introducing e-buses.

He formally flagged off the newly introduced e-Garuda buses on Tuesday evening at Miyapur, Hyderabad along with Chairman, MLA , Bajireddy Govardhan and VC &MD V.C. Sajjanar-IPS. After that, they traveled a short distance in this new bus and examined the facilities in it.

In addition, he said that environmental pollution is being reduced due to the use of fossil fuels in densely populated cities, and he appreciated that TSRTC has provided E-Garuda buses in accordance with the Telangana State Electric Vehicle Policy for providing environment-friendly public transport.

He reminded the fact that TSRTC has made a total of 760 super luxury and AC sleeper buses available in recent times and said that with the arrival of new buses, it is auspicious to reach 10 thousand buses again.

He said that electric buses are getting good response from the passengers and appropriate steps are being taken to provide better transport services to reach more people.

“This is a historic day, For the first time TSRTC will operate inter city electric AC buses. More electric AC buses will be available in coming days. Total 500 electric buses will be served in Hyderabad city along with 10 double decker buses. To relieve the burden of diesel. Electric buses are being introduced. In order to build a pollution-free society in the interests of the environment, electric buses should be made available to passengers. The company runs these buses from Hyderabad to Vijayawada. They stop at Suryapet for 20 minutes for charging,” said MD of the company V. C. Sajjanar-IPS .

Olectra Green Tech Limited Chairman and Managing Director Padeep said that 560 electric buses will be supplied to TSRTC on gross cost on contract basis.

TSRTC Chief Operating Officer (CVO) Dr. Ravinder, Joint Director Dr. Sangram Singh G. Patil, EDs Purushottam, Munishekhar, Company Officers Krishnakanth, Raghunatha Rao, Vijay Kumar, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Secunderabad RMs Sridhar, Varaprasad, Venkanna and others participated.
