Hyderabad(Aug, 6): The Air Intelligence Unit officials of the customs department made significant seizures at RGI Airport Shamshabad, uncovering three cases involving the illegal transportation of gold. In the first incident, two passengers arriving from Jeddah were found concealing 594 grams of gold, valued at Rs 36.41 lakh, ingeniously hidden inside an iron box.
The second case proved even more astonishing, as 1225 grams of gold, worth Rs 75.14 lakh, were discovered concealed within a portable speaker, cleverly hidden inside a light, and remarkably, in the form of three gold capsules hidden inside a passenger’s rectum.
In the third instance, a passenger traveling from Dubai to Hyderabad was caught smuggling 1924 grams of gold in a paste-like form, with an estimated value of Rs 1.18 crore, concealed cunningly within his underwear.

The total gold seized across all three cases amounted to 3.7 kilograms, valued at an impressive Rs 2.29 crore.
