Hyderabad(Sep, 5) : In preparation for the upcoming elections and significant religious events such as Ganesh and Milad, City Police Commissioner CV Anand conducted a comprehensive review of security measures and deployment readiness within the Hyderabad City Police. This review encompassed various units, including the City Security Wing, Home Guards, Mounted units, and Dog Squads, all of which play pivotal roles in maintaining law and order, safeguarding vital installations, and protecting VIPs.
During the thorough examination of the City Security Wing (CSW), responsible for VIP protection, Commissioner Anand emphasized the paramount importance of remaining vigilant and ensuring the security of the protectees. He encouraged CSW personnel to uphold the highest standards of health and discipline in their roles and assured them of efforts to improve working conditions.
Commissioner Anand personally visited the Mounted Police unit, where he inquired about the well-being of the 46 horses and 26 dogs. He instructed the handlers, unit staff officers, and veterinary doctors to ensure the excellent care and condition of these animals, inspecting their kennels, stables, and inquiring about their diet, maintenance, exercise, and training schedules.
Subsequently, he visited the Home Guards Commandant’s office to review records and commend the crucial role played by the Home Guards in supporting the police force during events and emergencies, including traffic management. He also inaugurated a new unit canteen within the City Security Wing premises, providing a convenient and comfortable dining option for CSW personnel who work tirelessly 24/7.
The Commissioner was joined by M. Srinivasalu IPS, Jt. CP (CAR & Training), Alex, DCP CSW, and other officers who provided updates on ongoing activities, infrastructure projects within the CAR, and discussed shortages and requirements for enhancing the city’s security.
