CM Revanth Reddy Orders Implementation of Farm Loan Waiver Scheme

Hyderabad : Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to develop the modalities for implementing the farm loan waiver scheme. In a review meeting held today (Monday) with top officials from the State Agriculture and Cooperation Department, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of fulfilling the promise made during the Assembly elections.

The CM directed officials to prepare plans to implement the farm loan waiver and to compile a list of farmers who have taken loans up to Rs 2 lakhs. He stressed that details of these farmers should be obtained from bankers to ensure that only eligible farmers are identified.

To avoid issues regarding the cut-off date, the CM advised officials to take necessary precautions. He also emphasized the need to gather details of farmers who have taken crop loans from Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies (PACS) before implementing the loan waiver scheme. Additionally, officials were instructed to estimate the required funds and compile complete details of the farmers whose loans, up to Rs 2 lakhs, are to be waived.

The Chief Minister ordered that the crop loans should be waived off by August 15 this year. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao, Adviser to the Chief Minister Vem Narender Reddy, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, and other top officials participated in the review meeting.
