Medak(June, 17) : Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan of the High Court emphasized the importance of expediting case resolution, stating that it should be a collective goal. He expressed his desire for the justice system to operate in a manner that assures litigants of swift justice when they approach the courts. High Court Judge Justice Naveen Rao, Justice Santosh Reddy, Medak Principal District Sessions Judge Lakshmi Sharda, District Collector Rajarshi Shah, SP Rohini Priya Darshani, and Bar Association President Jaina Reddy attended the event and approved the construction cost of the third-floor building, estimated at Rs. 5 crore. The foundation stone was laid during the ceremony.
Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan stressed that it is unfavorable for cases to remain pending for 25-30 years. He urged everyone to abide by the laws enshrined in the constitution and expedite the resolution of pending cases. He emphasized that the bar and bench are like two wheels of the legal system and if both function effectively, cases will be resolved promptly, ensuring justice for all. He also highlighted the importance of providing basic facilities for smooth court operations and mentioned that steps are being taken to establish buildings and other necessary infrastructure for courts in the state. The construction of the third floor is being undertaken due to the inadequacy of the current court complex.
Later, Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan visited the Medak Church where he offered special prayers and received updates on the church’s development from the priest. He then visited the Edupile temple and performed a special pooja. During this occasion, the temple’s governing body welcomed him with Pooran Kumham and presented Tirtha Prasadam, a shawl, and an image of the Goddess. Advocate General BV Prasad Rao, judges, advocates, Additional Collectors Pratima Singh, Ramesh, Yedupayal EO Sara Srinivas, and others were present at the program.
Bar Association President Jaina Reddy submitted a petition to the Chief Justice, requesting the upgrade of the Mobile Court to an Additional District Magistrate Court and its establishment in Wingal. She also appealed for the construction of officers’ quarters and a court complex in the area, following the model court complex concept. The spacious court complex, spread over 10 acres, is estimated to cost 33 crores.
