Sandeep Shandilya Appointed Hyderabad’s Top Cop with Three Decades of Policing Experience
Hyderabad(Oct, 13) : Sandeep Shandilya, an esteemed member of the 1993 batch of the Indian Police Service (IPS), officially assumed the position of Hyderabad City Police Commissioner. The transition took place at the Tower-A of the Telangana State Police Integrated Command Control Center (TSPICCC). With a career spanning over three decades, Shandilya brings a wealth of diverse experience from various departments. He commenced his journey in law enforcement as the ASP of Godavari Khani and later served as the OSD in Nalgonda during the 1990s. Throughout his career, he held critical positions, including SP of Adilabad and Krishna, showcasing his versatility.
Notably, he has a vast experience in metropolitan policing, having held positions such as DCP of South Zone from 2005 to 2007 and Addl.CP of Crimes from 2012 to 2014. In addition, he headed the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate from 2016 to 2018 and has also served as D.I.G. CID, IG Personnel, Addl.DG Railways, and Director of the Telangana State Police Academy. Shandilya’s exceptional dedication and contributions to the police department and the public it serves have earned him several prestigious medals, including the Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2002, the Antharik Suraksha Seva Pathak in 2004, the President Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 2018, and the Police Medal for Gallantry, highlighting his outstanding service.
