Top Police Officials Meet with BCCI and HCA for Cricket World Cup Security

Hyderabad(Sep, 23): A coordination meeting convened at the Uppal Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, where the Commissioner of Police Rachakonda engaged with officials from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), who are responsible for organizing the World Cup – 2023 matches. In his address during the meeting, the Commissioner emphasized the significance of the Cricket World Cup as a prestigious event and urged all officials to prioritize peace and security, ensuring that no untoward incidents occur. With the anticipation of a substantial influx of sports enthusiasts attending the matches, the authorities were directed to implement robust security measures. Specifically, the Commissioner stressed the need for comprehensive armed arrangements.

Furthermore, it was highlighted that the warm-up match scheduled for the 29th would be closed to the general public, with access exclusively granted to players and BCCI/ICC officials. The police were kindly requested to cooperate in enforcing this restriction. The meeting saw the presence of key figures, including Rtd. DGP CRPF Durga Prasad, IPS., DCP Abhishek Mahanthi, IPS., SOT DCP Giridhar, IPS., DCP Road Safety Sribala, ACP Naresh Reddy, ACP Traffic Srinivas, Uppal Inspector, Traffic Inspector, and representatives from BCCI, HCA, DNA Company, and Book My Show, all coming together to ensure the successful and secure hosting of the World Cup matches
