Hyderabad(July 10): A muslim delegation met with the Chief Minister of Telangana, KCR, to discuss the proposed Uniform Civil Code (UCC) by the BJP government. The delegation emphasized that the UCC should not be seen as solely a Muslim issue but also as a matter concerning Christians. They expressed concerns that the implementation of UCC would not only undermine the cultural and aesthetic diversity of the nation but also diminish the essence of pluralism, which is a cherished aspect of India’s identity.
The delegation claimed that the ruling party, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP, and RSS, allegedly harbor unfavorable views towards pluralism. Chief Minister KCR has assured the delegation of his opposition to the UCC and expressed his intention to appeal to Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy to oppose it as well.
