Chief Secretary Holds Key Meetings in New Delhi, Urges Action on Pending Projects

Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari Presses for Fast-track Approvals and Solutions in Meetings with GoI Officials

New Delhi (July, 10 ) : Telangana Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari held a series of important meetings with higher officials of the Government of India (GoI) in New Delhi today. During her one-day visit, she appealed for the resolution of various pending issues related to development schemes in the state. In a special meeting, Chief Secretary met with Union Defence Secretary Giridhar, Union Environment and Forests Secretary Leela Nandan, and Union Roads, Transport and National Highways Secretary Anurag Jain. One of the key appeals made by CS Santhi Kumari was to grant permissions for several pending projects, including the acquisition of 150.39 acres of Defence Department land for the construction of elevated corridors and a proposed sky-walk.

She requested the Union Defence Secretary to transfer the lands to the state government, assuring adequate alternative lands in return. In response, the Secretary of the Union Defence Department assured to review the details and make a suitable decision soon.

Furthermore, Chief Secretary also met with the Secretary of Union Environment and Forest Department, appealing for the approval of 60 state government proposals pending in the National Wildlife Conservation Board. She urged for fast-track forest department permissions in terrorism-affected areas and PMGSY works. Additionally, CS Santhi Kumari discussed pending issues related to the regional ring road construction works with the Secretary of Union Roads, Transport, and National Highways Department, Anurag Jain. Accompanying the Chief Secretary in the meetings were Transport, Roads, and Buildings Department Secretary Srinivasa Raju and Telangana Bhawan Resident Commissioner Gaurav Uppal.
