Hyderabad(May, 26) : The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has decided to give a ‘snack box’ along with the bus ticket to the passengers going to distant areas. The company which is already providing water bottle in AC services. TSRTC is making arrangements to provide fresh snack box. As a pilot project, the snack box system is starting from Saturday in 9 electric “e-Garuda” buses plying on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada route.
This policy will be extended to other services depending on the response from passengers. This snack box contains khakhra and chikki packets made of snacks along with mouth freshener and tissue paper. TSRTC has fixed a nominal price of Rs.30 in the ticket rate for the snack box.
“TSRTC is moving forward with innovative programs to reach out to the people. As part of that, it has decided to give snack boxes to travelers. The year 2023 has been declared by the United Nations as the International Year of Snacks. In this context, Kara and Chikki packets, which are made from snacks that promote overall health and strengthen the immune system, are useful for travel. The company will provide a snack box with tissue paper to the passengers. Whatever program TSRTC brings, the passengers are very supportive. The company is encouraged. This snack box policy should be supported as well.” TSRTC Chairman, MLA Bajireddy Govardhan, MD VC Sajjanar, IPS requested.
Each snack box has a QR code, which travelers are advised to scan on their phones to give valuable advice and suggestions. He said that changes and additions will be made in the snack box by considering this feedback. It has been clarified that the snack box policy will be extended to the rest of the services based on the feedback of the passengers.
