Hyderabad(June, 15): The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has come to the rescue of a bereaved family following a road accident. The family of the conductor, Bollam Sattaiah, who tragically lost his life, has been provided with financial assistance of Rs. 50 lakh.
In February of this year, conductor Bollam Sattaiah, stationed at the Jagtiyala depot, was involved in a fatal road accident. He lost his life on the spot when a lorry, traveling on the wrong route, collided with the TSRTC bus en route from Jagitya to Warangal. The accident occurred at the Malayala-Balawantapur stage, bringing immense tragedy to the conductor’s family as they lost their head of the household.
During this calamity, the victim’s family required the UBI Super Salary Savings Account and Rupay Card. Recently, the TSRTC management transferred the salary accounts of its staff and employees to UBI. They issued special guidelines to obtain the Super Salary Saving Account and Rupay Card, which offer financial benefits. All company employees were instructed to open the prescribed account at UBI branches in their residential areas and obtain Rupay cards.
Through this account and card, employees are entitled to free accident insurance, providing significant financial benefits. In the event of an accident, UBI provides a minimum of Rs. 40 lakh under the Super Salary Saving Account (based on the employee’s salary) and an additional Rs. 10 lakh under the Rupay card.
As a gesture of support, two checks amounting to Rs. 50 lakhs were handed over to the family of the deceased conductor, Bollam Sattaiah, from the Jagityala Depot. The handover took place at Bus Bhavan on Tuesday, with the presence of UBI officials and MD VC Sajjanar, IPS. Conductor Sattaiah’s wife, Bollam Pushpa, along with their son Praveen Kumar and daughter Madhavilatha, expressed their gratitude for the financial assistance of Rs. 50 lakh.
Following the check handover, Sajjanar expressed his condolences for the untimely demise of Sattaiah in a road accident, which occurred through no fault of his own. He emphasized that the organization prioritizes the welfare of its employees. Sajjanar further mentioned that the organization stands with the family members who have lost a major source of support. The free accident insurance facility plays a vital role in ensuring that the affected families do not lose their morale and courage during such challenging times.
Considering the welfare of the employees, the management changed the employees’ accounts to Super Salary Saving Accounts, providing financial benefits. Every employee is encouraged to switch their account to the Super Salary Saving Account. Sajjanar emphasized the importance of such schemes during times of crisis, citing this as an example, and urged employees to make full use of these opportunities. He expressed special thanks to UBI for providing this beneficial program.
