TSREDCO Chairman Promotes Electric Vehicle Drive with 405 Charging Stations in Hyderabad
Hyderabad : Y. Sathish Reddy, the Chairman of TSREDCO, has emphasized the tireless endeavors of the Telangana Renewable Energy Development Corporation in partnership with the government to advance the use of electric vehicles (EVs) across the state. A noteworthy achievement has been the establishment of 405 EV charging stations in Hyderabad. This feat underscores the commitment to expand EV charging infrastructure even in non-urban regions across the state. Sathish Reddy highlights the Telangana state government’s proactive stance on electric vehicle adoption, shedding light on the extensive plan to deploy charging centers throughout the state, ensuring convenient access to charging for EV owners.
A major objective is in motion: to set up 3000 electric charging centers across Telangana by 2025. TSREDCO is working hand in hand with private enterprises to realize this goal. The initiative transcends Hyderabad, welcoming private individuals to establish electric vehicle charging points in all districts, mandal centers, and highways throughout the state, encompassing an impressive 614 locations.
Sathish Reddy draws attention to the pioneering efforts of establishing charging stations through public-private collaboration, specifically highlighting the operational success of the inaugural station in Yadadri. Private companies are now entrusted with the responsibility of setting up both fast and slow charging centers across the designated sites identified by TSREDCO, spanning the districts and highways of the state. For those seeking information, TSREDCO’s head office, district offices, and the official website: https://tsredco.telangana.gov.in/ are valuable resources.
Chairman Sathish Reddy further reveals that within Hyderabad, TSREDCO has already installed 150 fast charging stations, with 90 of them in active operation. Ongoing efforts are directed toward increasing the number of charging centers in this area. After the completion of the initial 614 centers across the state, plans for further expansion are in motion. The Chairman assures that regardless of their location, people in remote areas will experience seamless access to electric vehicle charging.
In tandem with this, he calls upon individuals to champion environmental conservation by embracing electric vehicles. Commending the efforts of Minister KTR, Chairman Sathish Reddy acknowledges government initiatives, including the establishment of a mobility valley spanning 1200 acres. The government’s dedication to both the electric vehicle manufacturing sector and its supporting infrastructure is evident, showcased through incentives such as exemptions on registration charges and taxes for electric vehicle purchasers. The state has already witnessed a remarkable surge in electric vehicle adoption due to these actions, and the Chairman fervently encourages continued participation in environmental safeguarding through increased electric vehicle utilization
