Hyderabad(Aug, 7): Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, the esteemed managing editor of The Siasat Daily, passed away unexpectedly during poet-activist Gaddar’s funeral procession in Alwal on August 7. His demise has left a profound void in Urdu journalism, and Telangana’s chief minister expressed deep sorrow, acknowledging Khan’s instrumental role during the Telangana movement.
As a visionary leader, Khan constantly endeavored for the country’s progress and supported the education of underprivileged students through scholarships and donations. His philanthropic efforts extended beyond journalism, as evidenced by his Siasat Millat Fund, which donated generously to over 22,000 students from different states. Moreover, Khan’s dedication to uplifting marginalized communities led to the establishment of initiatives under the Abid Ali Khan trust in 1994, ensuring education and well-being for children in need.
