(June, 9 ) : RBI has made a key announcement on the exchange of Rs.2 thousand notes. It said that there is no possibility of extending the deadline for exchange of notes. It said that so far 50 percent of the Rs 2 thousand notes have been returned. It revealed that 85 percent of these were in the form of deposits and 15 percent of notes were exchanged. However, it said that there is a plan to provide flexibility to NRIs in the matter of conversion. RBI has given a deadline of September 30 for exchange of notes.
