Following the launch, a one-day hands-on training session for 60 master trainers was inaugurated by Anjani Kumar-IPS, DGP, Telangana, on April 13, 2023. Subsequently, CEIR user IDs were distributed to all 780 police stations across 31 police units on April 18, 2023.

Under the supervision of ADGP, CID, the CEIR has demonstrated its effectiveness, tracing and returning over 4,083 lost/missing mobile phones to their rightful owners within a short period of 95 days, from April 20, 2023, to July 23, 2023. Impressively, the last 1000 mobiles were detected in a span of just 16 days.

The consolidated data from the CEIR portal for Telangana State during this period shows that 49,621 mobile devices were blocked, 9,720 traceability reports were received (19.58%), and 4,083 devices were unblocked and handed over to their rightful owners (42.00%). Telangana now stands second in the country for its efficiency in detecting mobile devices through the CEIR Portal.

Various police units across the state have contributed to the success of tracing lost/stolen mobile phones, with significant contributions from Cyberabad Commissionarate (554 devices), Rachakonda (321 devices), Warangal Commissionarate (300 devices), and Hyderabad Commissionerate (265 devices).

To further improve user-friendliness and citizen service, Telangana Police, in coordination with DoT, has integrated the CEIR application with the TS Police Citizen Portal. This integration encourages citizens to use the service on the TS Police Citizen Portal for reporting lost or missing mobile devices, reducing the need to visit Mee Seva or Police Stations.

The implementation of the CEIR application in the state is overseen by Dr. Lavanya NJP, SP, Cyber Crime, CID, T.S. Hyderabad, in coordination with DOT officials, including K. Rajashekar, DDG Security, Murali Krishna, Director Security, and Raghava Reddy, Additional Director. The collective efforts have led to impressive outcomes in addressing mobile theft and ensuring the return of lost devices to their owners.
