Union Home Minister’s Medals Recognize Telangana Police Heroes for Investigative Excellence
Hyderabad : On August 14, 2023, Director-General of Police Anjani Kumar-IPS honored five police officers from Telangana for receiving the “Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation” for the year 2023.
The recipients of the award are as follows:
1. Additional SP, SIB M Thirupathanna
2. Deputy SP (Civil), Intelligence,R Satyanarayana Raju 3. Warangal Task Force ACP M Jitender Reddy 4. Bodhan ACP KM Kiran Kumar 5. Deputy SP. WSW, Hyderabad, B Srinivasa Rao.
Anjani Kumar congratulated these officers for their medal achievements and encouraged them to continue their outstanding work within the department. He also suggested that they compile their successful prosecution cases as case studies for the training of SIs / PCs.
The “Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation” is a recognition of the exceptional investigative skills and dedication demonstrated by these officers in solving complex cases. The award is aimed at acknowledging and motivating their remarkable contributions.
The award ceremony was attended by several high-ranking police officials including ADGP, Railways and Road Safety, B Shivadhar Reddy, IPS, ADGP, CID, Mahesh M Bhagwat, IPS, IGP, P&L, M Ramesh, IPS, IGP Multi Zone-II, Shahnawaz Qasim, IPS IGP Multi Zone-I, S Chandrasekhar Reddy, IPS, and IGP, Training, Tarun Joshi, IPS.
Here are the case details of the awardees:
1. M. Thriupathanna, Addl.SP, SIB, Intelligence, Hyd.
The case involves Murder cum Rioting of a person from the ST community. Accused persons were arrested, charged, and convicted.
2. R. Satyanarayana Raju, Dy.SP (Civil), Intelligence, Hyd.
The case pertains to sexual assault on a minor girl at an orphanage home. The victim passed away during treatment. Three accused individuals were sentenced to life imprisonment.
3. M. Jithender Reddy, ACP, Task Force, Warangal.
The case concerns the Rape cum Murder of a scheduled caste woman. The accused was found guilty and received a life sentence.
4. K. M. Kiran Kumar, ACP, Bodhan, Nizamabad.
The case involves the kidnap, rape, and murder of a 6-year-old girl. Despite no eye witnesses, the IO established the accused’s involvement through circumstantial evidence. The accused was sentenced to life imprisonment.
5. B. Srinivasa Rao, Dy.S.P., W.S.W., Hyderabad.
The case revolves around the murder of a 6-month-old baby girl, thrown into a well by the accused. The IO secured conviction based on circumstantial evidence. The accused received a rigorous life imprisonment sentence and a fine of Rs: 5000/-. The IO achieved convictions in two more murder cases.
