Hyderabad: The Telangana government is planning to introduce family digital cards for every household in the state, aiming to streamline access to various services. This single card will provide benefits like medical care, ration distribution, and other welfare schemes.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy held a review meeting with top officials from the Medical and Health, and Civil Supplies departments, instructing them to study the digital card systems already in place in Rajasthan, Haryana, and Karnataka, and submit a comprehensive report on their benefits and challenges. As part of the initiative, the CM directed officials to pilot the program in select urban and rural areas across the state, ensuring the cards would consolidate access to all welfare schemes, including medical services.
The family digital card will also include health profiles of each family member, making future medical services more efficient. The CM emphasized the need for a system to update family details and instructed officials to create a special district-level mechanism to monitor the cards’ usage. Several state ministers and top officials attended the meeting.
