Telangana Poll : Today marks a significant day for the people of Telangana as they exercise their democratic right by participating in the electoral process. The voting process for the 119 seats of the Telangana Assembly commences at 7 am, with meticulous arrangements in place by the Election Commission to ensure a smooth and transparent voting experience. Ahead of the official start, a mock polling session will be conducted at 5:30 am for polling agents to familiarize themselves with the procedures.
Fielding a total of 2,290 candidates, including 221 women and 1 transgender individual. The state boasts a substantial voter base of 3 crore 26 lakh individuals, distributed across 35,655 polling stations.
The Election Commission has left no stone unturned in its preparations, deploying 1.85 lakh polling personnel and 22,000 micro observers to oversee the entire process. Security measures are robust, involving 45,000 personnel from the State, 3,000 from other departments, 50 companies of Telangana State Special Police (TSSP), and 375 companies of Central Paramilitary forces. An additional 23,500 home guards from neighboring States will also contribute to maintaining a secure electoral environment.
