Hyderabad(Aug 28) : The state government has given a 30 percent salary increase to cultural artists who played a significant role in the Telangana movement by raising awareness among people. This move, unlike anywhere else in the country, marks the first time that a government has established a cultural sarathi organization and provided jobs to artists’ families from the Telangana movement.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao acknowledged these artists and has given jobs to 583 people. They will now receive a monthly allowance of Rs. 31,868, up from the previous Rs. 24,514. This decision, implemented from June 1, 2021, aligns their wages with those of government employees. Since 2015, these artists have been actively contributing to the progress of the state by sharing government initiatives through their songs, and this increase in wages acknowledges their efforts and aims to improve their economic status. The artists expressed gratitude to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, minister V Srinivas Gaud and other officials for this step.
