Medak’s Nandagokul Cemetery Faces Illegal Occupation and Construction: Local Muslims Seek Protection

Medak : On August 28th in Medak, there was a problem with people illegally taking over and building things on the Nandagokul cemetery land in Nizampet Mandal. Local Muslims told Syed Ishrat Ali Safi, who leads a group called Majlis-e-Ittehad Al-Muslimeen(MIM) in Medak. He got in touch with Kausar Mohiuddin, who is in charge of the area, and MLA Karwan. They understood how serious this was and talked to Rajarshi Shah-IAS, who takes care of Medak district. They told the district collector to help them, the local leader Syed Ishrat Ali Safi and a group went to the District Collector and asked for protection for the cemetery land. They wanted the land to be looked into and kept safe. They also asked for a survey of the land to be done quickly.

Later, Syed Ishrat Ali Safi talked on the phone to Devender Reddy from IFFCO about what was happening, Devender Reddy said they would put a fence around the cemetery to keep it safe. Syed Ishrat Ali Safi told the Muslim group from Nandagokul that AIMIM, their organization, would make sure the cemetery’s land stays protected. They would also stop any building that shouldn’t be there. During this time, other AIMIM leaders like Md Abdul Rafeeq and Md Ateeq, and members from Nandagokul like President Shaikh Fareed and Secretary Abdul Sattar, were part of this effort.
