Hyderabad : Today, Sreehari and Srija, a software engineer working in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, and residents of Rayadurgam, Ananthapur District, Andhra Pradesh, adopted an Asian Elephant for a period of one month. Accompanied by their parents and family members, they visited Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad, and handed over a cheque of Rs. 25,000/- (Twenty-Five Thousand Rupees Only) to Dr. Sunil S. Hiremath, IFS, Director (FAC) & Curator of Nehru Zoological Park.
Dr. Hiremath expressed his gratitude, acknowledging their generosity and concern for animal welfare. Following the adoption, Sreehari and Srija toured the animal enclosures with their family, praising the zoo’s maintenance and the Animal Adoption Scheme. They encouraged citizens to support wildlife conservation by participating in similar adoption initiatives at Nehru Zoological Park.
