Hyderabad(Sep, 28) : In a significant development for the manufacturing sector in Telangana, Sintex BAPL Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Welspun Corp Ltd, has officially signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Telangana state government to establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing unit. The project, with a substantial investment of Rs. 350 crore, will be carried out under the state government’s incentive scheme and will focus on the production of water tanks and pipes. Notably, this initiative is expected to generate employment opportunities for 1000 individuals in the Telangana region.
Sintex, a nationally recognized brand, is not only expanding its presence in the water tank segment but also venturing into the pipes business through this project, which will encompass various types of PVC pipes and fittings. The investment will be disbursed over the next three financial years.
The groundbreaking ceremony for this cutting-edge facility was conducted in the presence of esteemed leaders and dignitaries, including K. T. Rama Rao , Minister of Industries & Commerce, MA&UD, IT E&C, Telangana State, and B. K. Goenka, Chairman of Welspun World. This strategic move by Welspun reaffirms its commitment to becoming a leading and trusted partner in the building materials category.
Speaking at the event, K. T. Rama Rao , the Minister, expressed his delight at Welspun’s decision to establish this new facility, emphasizing that the state’s progressive policies and world-class infrastructure have played a pivotal role in attracting such investments. He pledged continued support to industrial growth in Telangana.
B. K. Goenka, Chairman of Welspun World, underscored the significance of their partnership with the Telangana government and their successful operations in the state. He highlighted that this project would contribute to further employment opportunities and strengthen Welspun’s presence in the building materials sector, with Sintex being an iconic brand in water tanks and now expanding into PVC pipes.
